CT Medicaid FAQs

The Connecticut Dental Health Partnership (CTDHP) is the dental plan for everyone who gets their medical care through the HUSKY Health plan operated by the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services.

Below are questions we frequently receive about CTDHP. Click on any of them for the answer.

If you have additional questions, call us at 855-CT-DENTAL (855-283-3682), Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or email us at this address.
What is the Connecticut Dental Health Partnership?

How does someone enroll in the CTDHP?

How can someone access dental care through CTDHP?

If someone is already in one of the State's medical Assistance Programs, but their dental provider doesn't take the CTDHP, what can they do?

Why doesn't the Connecticut Dental Health Partnership provide a list of its dental offices?
  • Printed lists are immediately out-of-date
A list can change on a daily basis. Dental offices may temporarily stop accepting new clients, may only see clients in certain age groups or from specific towns. Lists have a tendency to circulate, sometimes for years, and may include dentists who are no longer in practice or who have passed away.

  • Clients specific needs may not be met
Clients may not know the difference among general dentists, pediatric dentists and other specialist dentists. Even general dentists may offer special services that the client needs. The CTDHP can make sure clients are referred to providers that meet all of their dental needs.

  • Calling our friendly call center has benefits:

    • Reaching a live person who can answer questions about dental benefits.
    • Reaching a live person who has immediate access to dental providers, including office hours, phone numbers and directions to locations and appointments can be scheduled right away.
    • Assistance can be provided for client needs including transportation arrangements and translation services.
    • Referral to a Dental Health Care Specialist to help navigate dental services regarding complex care needs, including support system for clients with special health care needs.
    • Reaching a knowledgeable person who can connect clients to oral health education or information, forms, enrollment applications and other Medicaid/HUSKY tools through our website.
    • Call center number can connect callers to a dental audio self help library to answer questions about dental topics.

  • Modern communications improve the efficiency of dental access and connect clients to dental homes.
Most people use the internet or the telephone to obtain information. Classic lists, like the telephone book, are disappearing.

The best way to find dentists is to call us at 1-855-CT-DENTAL, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
You and/or your clients may also use the look-up tools on this website. Please remember the items above and don't create lists that will soon be out of date.
