2018 Dental Fee Schedule HIPAA Compliance Update: Effective for dates of service January 1, 2018, and forward, the Department of Social Services is incorporating the 2018 Health Care Common Coding Procedural System (HCPCS) updates (additions, deletions and description changes) to its dental fee schedule. The Department is making these changes to ensure that the dental fee schedule remains compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. The changes apply to services reimbursed under all the HUSKY Health programs.

CDC Releases New Mobile App for Infection Prevention in Dental Settings: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today released a new mobile application (app) to assist dental facilities with monitoring compliance with recommended infection prevention practices. The app, CDC DentalCheck, is a tool dental practices can use to evaluate dental health care personnel (DHCP) compliance with administrative policies and clinical practice infection prevention and control recommendations.

Important Changes to the Fee Schedule and Billing Guidelines Effective August 1, 2016: In accordance with the adjustments to the State's biennial budget that was recently approved by the General Assembly in Public Act - 2 of the May 2016 Special Session, the fees for selective dental services provided to children will be reduced, effective for dates of service August 1, 2016 and forward.

Previously Announced Rate Reduction Reconsidered: The Department of Social Services' previously announced reduction in pediatric dental reimbursement rates, scheduled to go into effect on July 1st, 2016 is being reconsidered due to feedback from dentists, members, and other oral health constituents. CTDHP Accepts Orthoselect: Ortho Select 3D Digital Study Model Format added to Orthodontic Prior Authorization Process Accepted via CTDHP Website.

CTDHP Accepts Emodels: In an effort to simplify the orthodontic Prior Authorization process, the CTDHP has made it possible to submit cases through the CTDHP.com website. Submitting orthodontic cases via www.ctdhp.com requires the use of digital study models. At this time, we currently accept digital study models produced using Emodel from Geodigm Corporation. For more information on Emodel please go to www.dentalmodels.com or contact Geodigm Corporation at 866-436-6335.
The advantages to using our newly designed system include:
- Decreased review time of cases.
- Reduced handling of models.
- Eliminates breakage of models in delivery.
- Reduces shipping costs.
- Eliminates storage space requirements.

INFECTION CONTROL SEMINAR August 2014: The Connecticut Dental Health Partnership, the dental plan for HUSKY Health, is offering a FREE infection control seminar for dental offices enrolled in the HUSKY program.
